About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, safety‑focused Hazardous Materials Supervisor to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be working alongside the team while also keeping projects safe, organized, and on track on residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Our main locations of work are Duncan, Victoria and Nanaimo, BC.
As a supervisor, you’ll be running crews on abatement projects, making sure safe work procedures are followed, and helping plan and organize the work. This is a hands-on position, and it is expected that supervisors are actively engaged in the completion of the project. Safety is our top goal with excellent secure work procedures in place to follow the WorkSafeBC guidelines for health and safety.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform asbestos abatement and other hazardous materials removal in accordance with WorkSafeBC regulations
- Operate hand tools and demolition equipment safely and efficiently
- Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and site procedures
- Work collaboratively with senior management and crew members
- Travel to out‑of‑town job sites as required (accommodations provided)
- Work overtime when needed to meet project timelines
Requirements
- WorkSafeBC Level 3 Asbestos Safety Leader Certificate (mandatory)
- Valid BC Class 5 driver’s licence (or equivalent)
- Experience supervising hazmat abatement
- Ability to pass a fit test and wear full PPE, including respirators (must be clean shaven)
- Physically capable of lifting (up to 50lb), bending, and working in confined spaces for extended periods of time
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail
- Own transportation (to get to central vehicle pick-up locations, often early in the morning-should not rely on public transportation)
Preferred Assets
- Experience in demolition, or construction
- Additional safety certifications (e.g., Fall Protection, First Aid, WHMIS, Confined Space)
- Driving trucks with trailer attached
- Familiarity with TDG requirements
