Claymoo · Markham, ON (remote, pref near Toronto) · Full-time · $80,000–105,000 base + bonus + competitive benefits
Claymoo is a fun, hands-on brand with a lean team. We’re looking for a Head of Creative to own our ad creative end to end: the strategy, the formats, the people who produce it, and the results.
About Claymoo
We make DIY foam-clay kits. The kind of thing people buy for a date night, a rainy Saturday with their kids, or an hour to themselves. Comes with step by step instructions, so no prior skills required at all.
We’re on a rocket ship. Growth is fast, every day is a busy day, and our goals are ambitious: better products, more of them, in front of way more people. The creative you own is the engine of that growth, and you’ll see whether your idea worked in days, not quarters.
We’re founder-owned and tiny on purpose. Four people full-time (you’d be the fifth), no investors, no layers, no politics. You’ll report to the CEO, work daily with both founders, and have genuine authority from day one. When something isn’t working, we’ll tell you straight, and we expect the same.
We move stupidly rapid, and we change direction. We design, manufacture, and ship everything ourselves from our own production floor. A kit goes from idea to shelf in under three weeks. New product ideas come up constantly, and when we see where we’ll win, we go there. Last month’s plan is not sacred.
We build our own systems. Our own internal app for ads, production, and the creator program, AI woven through every workflow, and the whole business documented in a wiki you can read from day one. If we do something repeatedly, we build a tool for it.
About you
You can read a video. You can explain exactly what made one work: the hook, the tension, the payoff, and especially the pacing. You feel when a cut lands 200ms late.
And you know the difference between a video that went viral and one that sold something. Those aren’t the same thing.
You’ve owned creative against a paid-media number. You read Ads Manager yourself and form your own view. You can walk us through a campaign you diagnosed and fixed, and tell us whether the problem was the hook, the audience, or the buying.
AI is already how you work. Concepting, scripting, variant generation, image and video tools, research. Fluently and creatively, not as a party trick. You’ll plug into the systems we’ve built, and we expect you to tell us how to make them better.
You love learning. We constantly overhaul how we work. The role you start with will look different in three months, and different again in six. That should excite you, not exhaust you. Given a target and authority, you build your own roadmap and change it when the data says to. You want ownership, not a rung on a ladder. There isn’t one here.
You direct people well, and you can get your hands dirty. Fast, specific, unprecious notes that make the next version measurably better, and you take feedback the same way. You can shoot and cut if you have to, you’re crafty enough to get your hands in the clay, and you genuinely get the person who buys our kits. (Yes, we’ll happily watch you build one in the interview!)
The role
You set the creative direction. You decide what we test, in what order, and why. Every concept comes with a hypothesis and a kill signal, and you defend the roadmap with reasoning, not taste alone.
You diagnose from the data.
We hold every ad to a hard cost-per-acquisition target. When one drifts past it, you figure out why and fix it.
You invent formats, not one-off ads. Repeatable creative structures that run across personas and angles and keep producing winners as individual ads fatigue.
You direct the makers. You brief and review our graphic designer, our creators, and freelancers, and pull in Carol, our co-founder, when a concept needs her design eye or her on camera. You also own the creator program’s content: coaching creators on formats that convert with US and Canadian buyers, and deciding who’s worth growing.
You’re measured on results. More profitable ads, more often, against our acquisition target. Also: concepts shipped per week and how our creators’ content performs. Your bonus is tied directly to it.

Skip the cover letter. Record a Loom (or any screen recording) of 10 minutes or less with two parts:
- Your work. Walk us through one piece of creative you made or directed, with the numbers. Where did the idea come from? How did you get it made? How did it perform, and what did you do with what you learned?
- Our work. Find one Claymoo ad in the Meta Ad Library, or any of our posts, and give us your notes as if you were briefing the next version. What’s working, what would you change, what would you test first?
No editing and no script. We want to see how you think and talk about creative, because that’s most of the job. Email the link and your résumé to
[email protected] with the subject line “APPLICATION: Head of Creative Strategy”. Portfolio and judgment matter to us far more than the résumé.
