This position provides research support for the design, implementation and assessment of custom educational programs and courses in the UBC Faculty of Medicine's Division of Continuing Professional Development (UBC CPD). The position will contribute to applied research and program evaluation activities that help inform the development and continuous improvement of educational initiatives. This position is responsible for conducting literature reviews, data collection and analysis, developing and administering surveys and evaluation tools, and assisting with the translation of research findings into program enhancements. The position also supports coordination of CPD events and research-informed educational activities in both online and in-person formats for physicians and other health professionals in British Columbia. This position reports to the UBC CPD Learning Curriculum Manager and works closely with Program Managers and other members of the UBC CPD team. Works closely, collegially, and collaboratively with other UBC CPD staff, as well as UBC CPD's senior leadership, Medical Directors, and consultants. Interacts regularly with various departments on campus within and outside of the Faculty of Medicine, administrators of campus and hospital departments, healthcare organizations, funding agencies, planning committees, external services providers (e.g. event venues, caterers, videoconferencing, and audio/visual support) and program/course participants (e.g. physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals). Supports the design and implementation of research and evaluation plans, including the development of data collection tools, tracking systems, logic models, and evaluation frameworks to assess educational program outcomes Supports the development of research study design aligned with program objectives, including the design of logic model design and analysis, and program evaluation frameworks; Collaborate with health care professionals, project team, external consultants, and other team members to develop needs assessments and evaluation instruments; ensures evaluation methodologies are ethical, and aligned with national standards Conducts literature searches, environmental scans,
and article reviews to inform program development and identify opportunities for improvement; Prepares, collects, summaries, and analyzes both qualitative and quantitative data from program evaluations and develops recommendations to address areas for improvement Design and administer surveys and evaluation tools to assess learning outcomes, knowledge retention, practice change, and participant satisfaction. Synthesize findings into research reports and generate actionable recommendations for program improvement and future research; Writes research reports and presents research findings to the Project Manager. Prepares findings into conference presentations; Collaborates with project team in developing reports for sponsors and external partners. Translate research findings into practical program improvements, educational content, and policy recommendations. Ensures research findings in courses adhere to national and provincial accreditation and certification standards, where applicable; Assists project team in developing course learning modules on UBC CPD Moodle (an online learning platform) while integrating research-informed content into the learning modules; Liaise with working group or subject matter experts as needed; Coordinates CPD event planning logistics for assigned programs, including complex qualified audio-visual needs and set up, speaker/facilitator/instructor coordination and training, coordination of special equipment, event catering requirements, and communicating with event registrants; Provides in-person and virtual, on-site support at educational events and activities in the Lower Mainland (i.e. setup room, technology and a/v, support event registration), at times outside of regular office hours; Responsible for updatin
