As a Pathologist Assistant, you will work under the Chief Pathologist, conducting gross examinations and supporting the processing of intricate pathology specimens. Your daily tasks will involve key interactions within surgical services while promoting laboratory standards and supporting ongoing education. This position demands both foundation knowledge and critical thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct surgical specimen gross examinations and dictation • Photograph specimens and manage their storage processes • Assist with post-mortem examinations with pathologist supervision • Facilitate educational sessions for pathology residents • Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and ethics
Requirements: • Master's in Clinical Science focusing on Pathologist Assistance • Certification from the Canadian Certification Council of Pathologists’ Assistants • 3+ years of gross dissection experience • Robust analysis and communication skills • Knowledge of accreditation standards and ethical practices
