Position Summary

Arctic Response is seeking an Health and Safety Consultant to review and develop OHS programming for our clients, ensuring services are delivered on time and within budget, while upholding high safety standards. Projects include reviewing and updating existing OHS programs and policies, development of new programs, site assessments, and facilitating communication between workers’ safety organizations and clients.

Responsibilities

- Meet with clients to discuss project scope and create a formal timeline
- Coordinate with management to produce client service quotes, identify additional staffing needs and assignments
- Coordinate with management, clients, and worker’s safety organizations to schedule site visits as required.
- Perform consulting services (such as assessments, inspections, interviews, policy writing, etc.)



according to all applicable federal and jurisdictional law and industry best practices
- Clearly communicate project status with management, clients, and other stakeholders
- Prepare reports, documents, and other deliverables as needed by the client
- Maintain accurate and specific timesheets to ensure accurate client billing and compensation
- Ensure all deliverables and reporting are executed in a timely manner
- Adhere to Arctic Response’s and client’s confidentiality requirements
- Effectively manage personal and team resources and time
- Support business development efforts, including client meetings, post-consulting course and additional health and safety consulting recommendations
- Provide direction or support in other areas as requested/required

Qualifications

- OHS Certification required
- CRST will be considered an asset
- Minimum 5 years of OHS experience in Alberta, Northwest Territories, and/or Nunavut
- Prior consulting experience will be considered an asset
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills coupled with ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change and be flexible in nature
- Ability to work independently and with other associates in a team environment
- Able to travel for up to two weeks at a time

Flights and accommodations are arranged and covered by Arctic Response. This position has a minimum target of 30 billable hours per week.

Pay: $50.00 per hour

- Consulting: 2 years (preferred)
