About the Role:
At Valleycrest Community Hospital, we are committed to providing organized, accessible, and patient focused healthcare services to the communities we serve throughout the Annapolis Valley. We are looking for a Health Information Coordinator who can take ownership of important health information workflows and help ensure that clinical documentation and information processes are accurate, organized, and handled efficiently.
You will work closely with clinical, administrative, and support teams to coordinate health information activities, maintain documentation standards, support information requests, and help improve processes across the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
Health Information Coordination:
Coordinate daily health information activities and ensure documentation is organized, complete, and processed according to established hospital procedures.
Documentation Support:
Review records and documentation for completeness and accuracy while identifying information that may require follow up with appropriate departments.
Information Requests:
Coordinate authorized requests for patient and health information while maintaining confidentiality and following applicable privacy requirements.
Department Coordination:
Work with clinical and administrative teams to resolve documentation issues and improve the flow of health information throughout the hospital.
Data and Reporting:
Assist with preparing routine reports, tracking information requests, and maintaining accurate departmental records.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve health information workflows and contribute to projects designed to increase efficiency and documentation quality.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in health information management, healthcare administration, medical records, clinical documentation, or a related healthcare environment.
Education:
Post secondary education in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Medical Records, or a related field is preferred.
Technical Skills:
Comfortable working with electronic health records, Microsoft Office, healthcare information systems, databases, and digital documentation platforms.
Organization:
Solid attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple information requests, deadlines, and departmental priorities.
Communication:
Clear and professional communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clinical staff, administrative teams, patients, and other stakeholders.
Mindset:
You are organized, dependable, and detail oriented. You understand the importance of accurate health information and can work independently while knowing when an issue needs to be escalated.
Pay: $5,492.00-$6,550.00 per month
