Health & Safety (COR) Specialist – Hybrid | Lower Mainland, BC

Vancouver-based, supporting the tourism and hospitality industry throughout beautiful British Columbia| www.go2hr.ca

Help tourism and hospitality businesses across BC build safer, stronger workplaces.

Do you light up when safety programs make sense, people feel supported, and workplaces become healthier places to be?

go2HR is looking for a knowledgeable, people-focused Health & Safety Certificate of Recognition (COR) Specialist to join our Industry Health & Safety team. In this role, you’ll work directly with employers, deliver practical training, strengthen and grow the COR program, and collaborate with partners who care about making work safer across BC.

This full time, permanent, hybrid role is based in the Lower Mainland and supports safer, healthier workplaces throughout BC’s vibrant tourism and hospitality industry.

About go2HR go2HR is the human resources and health & safety association for BC’s tourism and hospitality industry, and the certifying partner for the COR Program. We help employers build strong teams and safe workplaces so BC can continue delivering world-class visitor experiences.

Our values are Inclusive, Collaborative, Entrepreneurial, and Trustworthy and we bring them to life through practical support, meaningful partnerships, and a team culture that believes in doing good work together.

We do this by

- Delivering practical programs, tools, resources and advisory services.
- Providing industry-leading education and training.
- Supporting employers with health and safety and human resources expertise.
- Working alongside industry, government and stakeholders to strengthen BC's tourism and hospitality workforce.

The Opportunity As our COR Specialist, you’ll be a trusted guide for employers working toward safer workplaces and COR certification. You’ll support program delivery, quality assurance, employer engagement, and auditor development while helping strengthen workplace health and safety across British Columbia.

No two days are the same. One day you may be coaching an employer through a certification question; the next, networking at an industry event, reviewing program data, or helping shape tools that make safety easier to put into practice.

What You'll Be Doing

- Supporting employers throughout the COR certification process with practical advice and guidance.
- Building strong relationships with employers, auditors and industry partners.
- Promoting the COR program through presentations, meetings, conferences, outreach and industry events.
- Supporting the smooth delivery, growth and continuous improvement of go2HR's COR program.
- Conducting COR gap analyses and helping employers strengthen their health and safety management systems.
- Conducting quality assurance activities to help maintain the integrity, consistency, and credibility of the COR program.
- Delivering engaging COR training and maintaining practical COR and health & safety resources, tools and training materials.
- Supporting the recruitment, onboarding and ongoing development of COR auditors.
- Reviewing program performance, feedback and data to help identify opportunities for improvement.
- Working closely with the administrative coordinator to track audits and related activities, collaborate on tasks and ensure a high-quality service is maintained.

What You'll Bring You’ll thrive in this role if you’re passionate about health and safety, enjoy connecting with people, and like turning complex requirements into practical, confidence-building support for employers.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

- 2+ years’ experience working in a hands-on occupational health and safety role, with COR related responsibilities.
- Experience auditing occupational health and safety management systems (COR, ISO 45001, or similar).

· Experience providing training or consulting services is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of the Workers Compensation Act, Occupational Health and Safety Regulation and occupational health and safety management systems.
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical,

organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- A collaborative approach to work and a team player.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with HubSpot, Power BI and SurveyMonkey is an asset.
- A post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline (e.g. certificate, diploma or similar).
- Ability to effectively use AI tools responsibly while verifying outputs, protecting confidential information and applying sound judgment.
- Experience working in the tourism and hospitality industry considered an asset.

Salary & Perks $65,000–$75,000 annually, depending on your experience, education, and qualifications.

Along with meaningful work, you’ll enjoy:

- A hybrid work environment (based in downtown Vancouver head office with the opportunity to work from home 3 days a week).
- Comprehensive benefits and generous vacation.
- Professional development opportunities.
- Occasional travel throughout BC may be required, as part of employer engagement and industry events.
- A supportive team that values collaboration, learning and having fun along the way.
- The chance to support industry participation in one of BC's leading occupational health and safety certification programs.
