Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment and machinery used across manufacturing and industrial facilities. Duties
- Perform comprehensive inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles, industrial machinery, and equipment using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan, including lubrication, part replacements, and system calibrations.
- Utilize Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and low voltage electrical systems to diagnose operational issues and implement solutions.
- Operate welding equipment, HVAC systems, boilers, and other specialized tools to repair or upgrade machinery as needed.
- Read and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, and mechanical drawings to accurately identify issues and execute repairs.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders, parts inventory, and service history.
- Collaborate with industrial electricians and other specialists to troubleshoot complex electrical or mechanical problems efficiently.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations while providing excellent customer service to internal teams.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or in a similar industrial maintenance role within manufacturing or heavy industry environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience repairing heavy machinery such as cranes, forklifts, conveyors, or similar equipment.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools related to industrial systems.
- Electrical experience with low voltage systems, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and industrial electrician skills.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, welding techniques, and general maintenance practices is highly desirable.
- Ability to analyze mechanical issues quickly using analysis skills to determine root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills in English for transparent documentation and collaboration with team members.
