Course Description: European history from the late Middle Ages to the end of the Napoleonic Wars, emphasing the major political, cultural, economic and social changes that created early up-to-date Europe.

Estimated Course Enrollment: 60

Estimated TA Support: 115

Class Schedule: Thursdays, 1:00-3:00

Hours of Work: Thursdays, 4:00-7:00

Sessional Dates of Appointment: September 1, 2026 - December 31, 2026

Salary: $54.27 per hour

Please note that should rates stipulated in the Collective Agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the Collective Agreement shall prevail.

Qualifications: Applicants should have a completed PhD or (for non-U. of T. graduate students) equivalent, with major field in the relevant topic area. Demonstrated effectiveness as a teaching assistant, academic qualifications in the subject, ability to introduce students to a diverse range of approaches, and suitability for the position.

Description of Duties: Duties may include the teaching of small tutorial sections, marking of assignments, holding scheduled office hours and invigilation of exams; other duties as determined by the supervisor.
