This position is a one-year full time contract, reporting to the Manager of Allied Health Services in the Department of Well-being. As a Greenhouse Grower/Operator, you will handle vital tasks including pest scouting, irrigation, and environmental monitoring, ensuring optimal conditions for year-round crop growth. Familiarity with indigenous food practices will enhance your impact, making this role ideal for candidates from Six Nations or other First Nations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Optimize environmental conditions for crop growth • Operate irrigation and climate control systems • Perform planting, transplanting, and general crop care • Monitor soil quality and nutrient levels • Harvest and prepare crops for distribution and sale
Requirements: • Diploma in Greenhouse Technician or related field • 2-3 years of greenhouse operation experience • Greenhouse Structural Exterminator’s License required • Valid ‘G’ class license and vehicle needed • Proficient in MS Office applications
