Position: Housing Stability Navigator

Term: Permanent Full-Time

Salary: Competitive salary range

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30a.m. to 4:30p.m.,

must be flexible to align work schedule with program requirements which will include occasional evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays

Job Summary The Housing Stability Navigator provides direct support to Oneida Nation of the Thames families experiencing housing insecurity, with a primary focus on families with children. The position assists clients in accessing and maintaining protected, suitable, and sustainable housing through assessment, case management, advocacy, system navigation, and housing application support.

Working within a client-centered, strengths-based, and culturally responsive framework, the Housing Stability Navigator develops individualized housing plans, connects clients to community resources, advocates on their behalf, and provides ongoing support throughout the housing process. The position plays a key role in preventing homelessness and promoting long-term housing stability by helping clients overcome barriers to housing, access available supports, and develop the skills and resources necessary to successfully maintain their housing.

The Housing Stability Navigator also contributes to the implementation of the Oneida Housing Sustainability Strategy through community collaboration, housing system planning, service coordination, and the identification of emerging housing needs and trends within the community.

Education





- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) is preferred.
- Candidates with a Diploma or Degree in Social Service Worker, Human Services, Community Services, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field may also be considered.

Experience

- Minimum two (2) to three (3) years of experience providing direct client services within the social services sector, preferably in housing support, homelessness prevention, case management, family support, advocacy, or a related support service.
- Demonstrated experience conducting client assessments, developing support plans, managing case files, and coordinating services.
- Strong knowledge of housing systems, subsidized housing programs, housing application processes, and community resources.
- Experience working with First Nations organizations or communities is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of Oneida Nation history, culture, traditions, and community resources.
- Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Valid Class “G” driver’s license and use of company vehicle is required.
