PERFECT X HAIR is a multi-location hair salon specializing in luxury K-beauty hair services. As our team continues to grow, we are looking for a bilingual HR and Payroll Coordinator to take ownership of our HR function and help us build robust, consistent people-management systems across our locations.

This is a hands-on role suited to an HR professional who enjoys working directly with owners, managers, and employees in a fast-paced service business.

The Role The HR Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day HR function, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration, employee relations, performance management, documentation, policies, and employment compliance.

You will work closely with ownership and management to ensure employee matters and payroll are handled accurately, professionally, consistently, and in accordance with Ontario employment standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll & Compensation

- Run and process biweekly payroll accurately and on time
- Review employee hours, commissions, bonuses, tips, vacation pay, statutory holiday pay, and other compensation
- Verify payroll information and investigate discrepancies before payroll is finalized
- Maintain accurate payroll and compensation records
- Process new hires, terminations, wage changes, and other employee changes within the payroll system
- Work with management and accounting/bookkeeping as required on payroll matters

Recruitment & Onboarding

- Manage job postings and candidate screening
- Coordinate and conduct interviews
- Prepare employment documentation and offers
- Manage employee onboarding and orientation
- Maintain complete and organized personnel files
- Coordinate employee offboarding

Employee Relations & Performance Management

- Advise managers on employee performance and conduct issues
- Prepare and review written warnings and performance improvement plans
- Assist managers with difficult employee conversations
- Handle employee complaints and workplace concerns




- Conduct or coordinate workplace investigations when required
- Maintain appropriate documentation of disciplinary and performance matters
- Help ensure policies are applied consistently across locations

HR Policies & Compliance

- Maintain and update company HR policies and employee handbook
- Help ensure compliance with Ontario employment standards and applicable workplace legislation
- Maintain vacation, leave, attendance, and other HR records
- Identify HR and employment risks and escalate complex matters to ownership or external employment counsel when appropriate
- Support proper documentation relating to employees and independent contractors

What We're Looking For:

- Bilingual in English and Korean (able to speak and write)
- Strong working knowledge of Ontario employment standards and HR practices
- Experience handling employee relations, performance management, disciplinary matters, and terminations
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Excellent written documentation and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence handling difficult conversations

Experience working in a multi-location retail, hospitality, beauty, healthcare, restaurant, or other service-based business is strongly preferred. A CHRP or CHRL designation is an asset but not required.

Compensation

- $50,000 - $70,000 annual salary, depending on experience and qualifications
