WAGE RANGE: $41.839 TO $57.320 PER HOUR
POSITION OBJECTIVE The Radiation Therapy Department at the Walker Family Cancer Centre (WFCC) is an expanding program that provides state-of-the-art treatment planning, simulation, and treatment for external beam radiation. Our centre has 3 Linear Accelerators and a CT simulator. The radiation therapist works within a multi-disciplinary department team consisting of Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, Oncology Nursing, Booking Clerks, Secretaries, and Health Care Aides who collaboratively provide comprehensive patient-centred support to create the best patient experience per the values of Niagara Health. The duties and responsibilities of the Radiation Therapist include administering radiation treatment according to a radiation oncologists' orders for the delivery of radiation planning and treatment, adherence to the College of Medical Radiation Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) Standards of Practice, documentation of technical and patient related treatment information, integrating reflection, critical thinking, education, and relevant practical experience in problem-solving.
The Therapist will take active participation in quality assurance programs and will be required to perform other related duties and activities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of an accredited Medical Radiation Technology Program in Radiation Therapy
Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario in Radiation Therapy M.R.T(T)
Current CMRITO membership
Current BCLS certification with ongoing re-certification mandatory
Radiation Therapist experience of at least 3 years is an asset
Excellent technical, communication, organizational, patient assessment, and critical analysis skills
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
Demonstrated adaptability, flexibility, compassion, initiative when dealing with patients/families
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workload
Applies NH values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service
Knowledge of computer systems and general office software
Consistent and regular attendance required
