Job location:

Fort McMurray, Alberta - Horizon Oil Sands or Albian Oil Sands

Shift schedule:

4 days on, 3 days off, 10-hour shifts (Monday - Thursday)

Term length:

8 or 12 months

Term start:

January or May 2027

Key Accountabilities:

Assist the Upgrading and Utilities or Bitumen Production Engineering Team in activities relating to operations, maintenance or construction support

Collaborate with project and operations teams to ensure proper alignment with operations needs and requirements

Review assets and data to see where we can improve the frequency of maintenance and be able to improve our uptime on equipment

Gather field measurements and data to assist engineers





Assist in checking designs executed by engineering contractors

Assist in evaluation of equipment purchase specifications

Coordinate with various disciplines and departments within Operations or Major Projects to resolve engineering issues

Interface with project and operations teams to ensure proper alignment with operations needs and requirements

Assist with creating and maintaining project deliverables such as Lessons Learned Logs, Request for Information forms, Technical Deviation Requests

Develop engineering drawings and construction work packages

Develop Electric Heat Tracing designs and drawings

What You Bring to The Role:

Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering or within one year of graduation

Previous engineering experience is considered an asset

Previous field experience an asset

Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license or equivalent out of province license with a reasonably clean driver abstract and comfortable driving work trucks in a safe manner
