Inner City Diesel Ltd. (ICD) is excited to announce we are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join our team. This position is primarily field based and requires working directly with frontline leaders, supervisors, management, and employees, fostering effective communication and a proactive approach.
The successful candidate will be working Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday at our shop (181 Robertson Road) and on client sites. You MUST BE local to Fort McMurray and have your own form of transportation to and from work (public transit is not available).

Responsibilities:
- Provide day to day health and safety support to field and shop operations.
- Conduct regular daily field inspections, safety observations, and workplace audits.
- Identify hazards and recommend practical corrective and preventative actions.
- Support supervisors and employees with hazard assessments, FLHAs/JHAs, safe work practices, and safety procedures.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable Alberta occupational health and safety legislation.
- Participate in incident, near-miss, and hazard investigations and assist with identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Follow up on corrective actions to ensure they are completed effectively and on time.
- Conduct and/or assist with safety orientations, daily toolbox talks, weekly safety meetings, and training.
- Promote employee engagement and accountability through positive safety leadership.
- Assist supervisors with implementing and maintaining protected work practices.
- Monitor contractor safety performance and compliance with site requirements.
- Participate in emergency response planning, drills, and preparedness activities as required and maintain records.
- Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, training records, and other documentation.
- Assist with the development and review of safety procedures, forms, and programs.
- Track safety statistics, trends, and action items and present and provide reports to management.
- Support drug and alcohol, fit-for-work, PPE, and other company safety programs as applicable.
- Communicate safety concerns promptly to supervisors and management.
- Present HSE onboarding orientation, WHIMIS training, perform fit testing and provide PPE. Track and maintain those training records.
- Perform other health and safety duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant HSE experience
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and SharePoint
- Must have own form of transportation to and from work (public transit not available to office location)
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with internal or external COR audits
- Experience with SiteDocs or similar digital safety platforms

- Willing to follow all ICD Health, Safety and Environmental Procedures
Successful candidates must provide the following items prior to confirmation of their start date:
- Comprehensive alcohol and drug test clearance letter
- Copy of valid Class 5 (or greater) driver’s license
- Copy of current 3-year clean driver’s abstract
- Copies of education and training certificates (if applicable)
