Location: Stony Plain, AB (Travel to branch locations as required)

Safety is at the core of everything we do, and we're looking for an experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to lead and continuously improve our safety program.
About the Role
Reporting to the President and Operations Manager, the HSE Manager is responsible for leading the company's Health, Safety & Environmental Management System (HSEMS), maintaining COR certification, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting operational leaders, and driving continuous improvement across all branches.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and continuously improve the company's HSEMS.
· Ensure compliance with COR requirements, occupational health and safety legislation, client requirements, and transportation regulations.
· Develop and maintain HSE policies, procedures, standards, and documentation.
· Lead incident investigations, risk assessments, emergency preparedness, and corrective actions.
· Coordinate internal and external COR audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Manage client and subcontractor compliance programs, including prequalification, HSE documentation, and support for RFPs, tenders, and contract submissions.
· Maintain client compliance platforms, including ISNetWorld, Avetta, ComplyWorks, and CQ Vendor.
· Oversee fleet safety and transportation compliance, including NSC, Carrier Profile, Hours of Service, and Samsara.
· Coordinate HSE orientations, training programs, and competency requirements.
· Prepare HSE performance reports and recommendations for senior leadership.
· Coach and support leaders in promoting a strong safety culture.
Education & Experience
Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline preferred.
Minimum 5 years of progressive HSE leadership experience in construction, crane and rigging, transportation, industrial services, or heavy equipment. Experience managing COR programs, regulatory compliance, and HSE/fleet management systems such as eCompliance, Samsara, ISNetworld, Avetta, or ComplyWorks.
Preferred Certifications
· CRSP or NCSO
· COR/Internal Auditor
· Standard First Aid & CPR
· Incident Investigation Training
Skills & Qualifications
· Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
· Experience supporting crane and rigging operations is considered an asset.
· Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
· Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation and National Safety Code requirements.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and HSE management software.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions
· Primarily office-based with travel to branch locations and customer worksites as required.
· Occasional exposure to industrial and construction environments requiring PPE.
· Occasional evening, weekend, or overtime work.
