As the company evolves, they are seeking an experienced Human Resources and Health and Safety Coordinator to play a key leadership role in the continued growth and success of the organization.
We are seeking a hands-on Human Resources Professional to support the Human Resources and Health & Safety functions within a fast-paced contracting environment. This role combines employee relations, safety compliance, and operational support, working closely with both office and field teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain HR records (attendance, employee relations, corrective actions, etc.)
- Conducts and support interviews, terminations, and return-to-work planning
- Manage WSIB claims, reporting, and coordination
- Maintain safety training records and ensure compliance (certifications, expiries)
- Coordinate safety training and Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings
- Support incident reporting and investigations
- Assist with prequalification and tender documents
- Coordinates proposals and some special assignments projects from time to time
Key Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years experience in Human Resources and Health & Safety within construction, industrial, or a similar environment
- Business Administration diploma or degree with HR focus preferred
- Joint Health and Safety Certification Part 1 and 2 preferred
- First Aid/CPR preferred
- Strong working knowledge of WSIB processes and Ontario health & safety legislation
- Experience with return-to-work programs and incident investigations
- Highly organized with strong documentation and administrative skills
- Comfortable working with both office staff and field/site employees
- Solid communication skills and ability to handle sensitive matters professionally
- Experience with site/shop inspections is an asset
