Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: 20–$25/hour, based on experience
Indoor Air Maintenance and Service is looking for a reliable and motivated Fan Coil & Heat Pump Service and Maintenance Technician to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, replacements, and installations of fan coil units, heat pumps, and related HVAC equipment in residential and commercial buildings.
This is a customer-facing position requiring strong technical skills, professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and service on fan coil units, heat pumps, and HVAC systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, airflow, drainage, and temperature-related problems
- Repair and replace HVAC and heat pump components
- Install and replace fan coil units, heat pumps, valves, pumps, motors, actuators, thermostats, and related equipment
- Assemble and install HVAC components and piping
- Measure, cut, fit, and connect piping using appropriate tools and ProPress systems
- Perform equipment start-up and operational testing
- Inspect systems for leaks, proper airflow, drainage, heating, and cooling performance
- Clean coils, drain pans, condensate lines, blowers, and other HVAC components
- Complete service reports and document work performed
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment condition, repairs, and maintenance requirements
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working condition
- Follow company procedures and applicable health and safety requirements
Job Requirements
Candidates must
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Hold a valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence
- Have a clean or acceptable driving abstract
- Be comfortable using hand tools and power tools
- Be physically capable of performing HVAC service and maintenance work
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Be dependable, punctual, organized, and safety-conscious
Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with any of the following is considered an asset:
- Fan coil units
- Water-source heat pumps
- Hydronic heating and cooling systems
- HVAC preventive maintenance
- HVAC troubleshooting and repair
- Electrical troubleshooting
- Plumbing and hydronic piping
- ProPress systems
- Condensate drainage systems
- Thermostats and HVAC controls
Customer Service Skills The ideal candidate will:
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers
- Be courteous and respectful while working inside customers' homes or buildings
- Be able to explain technical problems in simple terms
- Demonstrate solid problem-solving skills
- Be organized and able to manage assigned service calls efficiently
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude
- Take responsibility for the quality of their work
- Be comfortable working with minimal supervision
Experience with fan coil units and heat pumps is strongly preferred, but candidates with related HVAC, mechanical, electrical, or plumbing experience are encouraged to apply. Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
