Job Summary:
The Manager, AML/ATF and Compliance plays a key role in delivering high-quality anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing services to Central 1's clients. Reporting to the Senior Manager, AML/ATF and Sanctions Risk Management, this role helps manage AML/ATF risks, supports efficient operations, and ensures exceptional service for both internal and external stakeholders. As a senior team member, solid leadership, sound judgment, and a high degree of confidentiality are essential.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead and oversee the day-to-day work of AML/ATF investigators and analysts, ensuring high-quality service delivery and operational effectiveness.
- Stay current on AML/ATF regulations,
legislation, and industry best practices, and ensure team activities align with evolving requirements.
- Manage the delivery of AML/ATF outsourcing services for clients, including transaction monitoring, suspicious transaction reporting, enhanced due diligence (EDD), risk assessments, compliance reporting, and advisory support.
- Assess the impact of new or amended regulations and implement updates to policies, procedures, and controls as needed.
- Conduct compliance reviews, internal controls testing, and periodic audits to identify risks, recommend improvements, and implement corrective actions.
- Support and lead AML/ATF initiatives for internal and external clients, including the development of policies, procedures, risk assessments, training, awareness materials, and advisory services.
- Develop and enhance operational processes, standards, and best practices to improve efficiency, consistency, and client outcomes.
- Mentor, coach, and develop team members, strengthening AML/ATF knowledge, skills, and professional growth.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing team setting built on trust, accountability, open communication, and continuous improvement.
- Lead change management initiatives and champion process improvements that enhance operational effectiveness and results.
What you'll have:
- 7+ years of experience in AML/ATF and/or sanctions, with leadership experience managing teams and driving operational performance considered an asset.
- University degree in criminology, law, economics, business administration, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify AML/ATF and sanctions risks through data analysis and investigation.
- Deep understanding of the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA) and related regulations.
- Knowledge of AML best practices for managing high-risk clients, transactions, industries, geographies, and correspondent banking relationships.
- Experience with regulatory reporting requirements and compliance obligations.
- Previous consulting or client-facing experience, with a strong customer service mindset.
- Proven ability to develop AML/ATF deliverables, including policies and procedures, risk assessments, governance documents, and risk management reports.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business guidance.
- CAMS certification (or similar designation), or a commitment to obtain one within the first year.
- Excellent collaboration, planning, organization, change management, and stakeholder management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and quality of work.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and consistently meet deadlines.
Salary range : $90,000-$105,000
