Job Title: Retail Credit Analyst

Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 CAD

Role Status: New Position | Permanent Full-Time

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Retail Credit Analyst to join their growing Credit team.

This position offers the chance to analyze commercial lending opportunities, make informed credit decisions, and work closely with sales teams, dealers, and customers to support profitable business growth while managing risk.

Principal Tasks and Responsibilities Include:

Analyze prospective customer profiles and assess creditworthiness for commercial financing and leasing transactions.

Underwrite and adjudicate credit applications within established policies, procedures, and delegated authorities.

Prepare detailed written credit analyses and recommendations for current and prospective customers.

Review financial statements, cash flow reports, and credit bureau information to evaluate risk exposure.

Structure financing solutions that balance customer needs with sound credit practices.

Maintain accurate documentation of credit approvals, conditions, security requirements, and insurance requirements.

Communicate credit decisions and negotiate transaction structures with internal stakeholders, dealers, and customers.

Build and maintain strong relationships with sales teams,



distribution partners, and customers.

Support process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing underwriting efficiency and reducing risk.

Utilize pricing and financial analysis tools to evaluate and recommend financing structures.

Participate in testing and implementation activities related to system and process enhancements.

Provide support on higher-value transactions and assist colleagues with complex credit opportunities as required.

Perform additional administrative and analytical duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Pre-Requisites:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial credit underwriting, equipment finance, leasing, or related financial services environments.

Experience adjudicating small- to mid-ticket commercial lending transactions.

Proven ability to structure and evaluate asset-based financing transactions.

Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, and key financial ratios.

Knowledge of commercial lending documentation, lease agreements, and security registration requirements.

Strong analytical, decision-making,



and credit risk assessment skills.

Experience reviewing commercial credit bureau information and related risk indicators.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Robust organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a rapid-paced environment.

Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team setting.

Strong negotiation, relationship-management, and customer service skills.

Bilingual French and English language skills would be considered an asset.

Previous experience in captive finance, equipment finance, transportation finance, or commercial leasing environments is considered an asset.
