About Plantscape Windsor Inc.
Plantscape is a growing landscaping company serving Windsor-Essex and surrounding areas. We operate a fleet of vehicles, trailers, landscaping equipment, and small-engine equipment that supports our maintenance and construction crews.
We are looking for an experienced and dependable In-House Mechanic to join our team and keep our fleet and equipment running efficiently.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company vehicles, trucks, trailers, and landscaping equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and small-engine issues
- Perform oil changes, filter changes, brake repairs, battery replacements, belt replacements, lubrication, and other routine maintenance
- Repair and maintain lawn mowers, zero-turn mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, and other small-engine equipment
- Troubleshoot engine, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical problems
- Complete preventative maintenance and inspections
- Identify potential mechanical issues before they result in equipment breakdowns
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Track parts, repairs, maintenance schedules, and equipment service history
- Order or request parts and supplies when required
- Keep the mechanic shop, tools, parts, and work areas clean and organized
- Prepare equipment for seasonal startup and winter storage
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and urgent repair needs when required
- Communicate repair requirements, costs, and equipment downtime to management
- Coordinate with outside repair shops when repairs are beyond in-house capabilities
- Help reduce equipment downtime and unnecessary repair costs
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a mechanic, fleet mechanic, small-engine mechanic, or similar position
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with landscaping equipment and small engines is an asset
- Experience working on trucks, trailers, or fleet vehicles is an asset
- Ability to diagnose and complete repairs independently
- Strong attention to detail
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Able to prioritize repairs based on urgency and operational needs
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver's licence required
- Mechanic certification or trade experience is an asset

Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to:
- Lift and carry tools, parts, and equipment
- Stand for extended periods
- Bend, kneel, crouch, and work in various positions
- Work around vehicles, machinery, and small engines
- Work indoors and outdoors as required
Schedule
Monday to Friday
Hours may vary depending on operational needs, equipment breakdowns, and seasonal workload.
