The Friends is recruiting Independent Living Assistants in the Muskoka area for our Assisted Living Program in Gravenhurst/Bracebridge. If you are looking for meaningful work to make a difference in the lives of others, we provide comprehensive training, support and an inclusive team environment.

Independent Living Assistants provide service to individuals with physical disabilities and/or seniors by supporting them with personal care, activities of daily living and encouraging/facilitating client ability to gain/maintain independence.

Qualifications

- interest/experience supporting seniors and adults with physical disabilities living in their own home with health care needs
- background/training in health related field such as PSW/DSW/SSW is preferred but not necessary




- understanding of and commitment to independent living and client right to direct their own care
- excellent physical strength and stamina
- ability to work with direction and independently
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- sound judgement and discretion in confidential matters
- reliable insured vehicle
- must be able to work days, evenings and every other weekend

Responsibilities

- Provide compassionate caregiving and support to individuals in our Seniors Assisted Living program
- Assist clients with daily activities, including meal preparation, bathing, personal care, cleaning, and medication assistance.

- Maintain open communication with clients and their families to ensure their needs are met effectively.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment that promotes independence and well-being.

Pay: $22.95-$26.00 per hour
