Mr. Fireplace, a trusted name in Calgary's hearth industry since 1967, is looking for a motivated, personable Inside Sales Representative / Showroom Sales Consultant to join our team.

If you have experience in retail sales, inside sales, home improvement, interior design, renovation, appliances, building products or customer service, we'd like to hear from you.

Fireplace experience is an asset, but it isn't required. We can teach you fireplaces.

What we're really looking for is someone who enjoys working with people, has a natural ability to sell through conversation and problem-solving, and takes pride in delivering an excellent customer experience.

The Role

This is a customer-facing sales position based in our Calgary retail showroom.

Customers will come to you looking for everything from a simple replacement fireplace to the centrepiece of a major renovation or new home.

You'll help them understand their options, identify the right products for their needs and budget, prepare quotes, follow up on opportunities and guide them through the purchasing process.

You'll work with a wide variety of gas, wood and electric fireplaces, inserts, stoves and related hearth products from some of the industry's leading manufacturers.

What You'll Be Doing

- Greet and assist customers in our retail showroom
- Respond to sales inquiries by phone, email and in person
- Identify customer needs, preferences, budget and project requirements
- Recommend appropriate fireplace, stove and insert solutions
- Explain product features, benefits and options
- Prepare accurate customer quotes and estimates
- Follow up with leads, quotes and prospective customers
- Help turn inquiries and showroom visits into sales




- Coordinate customer projects with installation, service and other departments
- Develop strong knowledge of our fireplace products and manufacturers
- Maintain an organized, professional and welcoming showroom
- Assist with showroom displays, samples and product literature
- Build relationships that generate repeat business and referrals

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate has

- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Previous retail, showroom, inside sales or customer-facing experience
- A consultative approach to selling
- Confidence speaking with customers in person and over the phone
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Attention to detail when preparing quotes and customer orders
- Basic computer and email proficiency
- The ability to learn technical product information
- A positive, dependable and team-oriented attitude
- The ability to manage multiple customers and projects at the same time

An Eye for Design Is a Big Plus Today's fireplace is often one of the main design features of a home.

Experience, education or a strong personal interest in any of the following would be an asset:

- Interior design
- Home renovation
- Architecture or architectural technology
- Drafting
- Space planning
- Kitchen and bath design
- Building products
- Home décor
- Residential construction

If you're comfortable looking at a customer's room,



floor plan or inspiration photo and helping them visualize the finished project, you'll fit well in this role. Fireplace Experience?

No fireplace experience?

That's okay.

We can teach product knowledge. We're looking for someone who already brings the things that are harder to teach: personality, curiosity, reliability, communication skills and a genuine desire to help customers.
