Edmonton Zone Continuing
Care (CCEZ) delivers services through five core program areas: Home Living (HCC Types 1 & 2), Supportive Living (CCH Type B), Facility Living (CCH Type A), Palliative &
- End of Life Care, CHOICE and Adult Day Programs, &
- Transition Services. The Instructor is a member of the ALA Continuing Care (CC) Education and Practice Development team in the Edmonton Zone. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, & evaluating CC orientation & education.
Education delivered through this position supports the clinical practice of frontline CC staff & is developed in collaboration with operational partners across CCEZ. Plan, develop, deliver, maintain, & evaluate orientation &
education for frontline, administrative, and out-of-scope staff across CCEZ. Collaborate with program areas to identify cross-continuum knowledge gaps & design education that promotes clinical competence &closes; those gaps. Partner with provincial and CCEZ stakeholders to plan and implement education related to policy, procedure, protocol, clinical practice, & technology changes that support best practice & quality improvement.
Foster leadership & mentorship by supporting educators, clinical nurse educators, qualified practice leads, clinical quality consultants, & frontline staff to enhance learning related to CC & program initiatives. Provide timely, responsive education to address emerging priorities and learning needs across frontline CC clinicians. Adhere to a professional Code of Ethics and AHS policies & procedures.

the Instructor is accountable for nursing practice in accordance with their regulatory College.
Description
As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice.
You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
Current Basic Cardiac Life
Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Baccalaureate Degree in Psychiatric Nursing. Active registration and current practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CNRA). Minimum of five (5) years of recent Continuing Care experience.
Experience as a facilitator or instructor with demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles.

- Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel. Demonstrated solid communication, written, and organizational skills. Proven leadership abilities, including effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders. Ability to design, develop, and deliver educational materials. Meets or exceeds Continuing Care clinical practice standards across programs. Demonstrated ability to evaluate clinical performance, assess staff learning needs, and plan appropriate education strategies.
Physical demands include frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, moving equipment, prolonged standing and sitting, and carrying supply bags weighing approximately 35–50 lbs. Ability to work flexible/extended hours as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a case manager, Professional Practice Lead, or Instructor in a Continuing Care setting. Strengths include capacity building approaches that support clinical decision making, project and change management experience, and use of data to drive quality improvement. Technical proficiency with tech and education tools such as Connect Care, Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Zoom is beneficial. Extensive wound care/edema management is an asset.
