What to Expect
Tesla’s Robotics Team is at the forefront of designing and building humanoid bi-pedal robots (Tesla Bot) for automating repetitive tasks, as well as wheeled robots for manufacturing and autonomous logistics. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an R&D; Machinist Intern to join a highly collaborative, cross-functional team of engineers, machinists, and technicians in Langley, British Columbia. The intern will contribute to creating high-precision components for cutting-edge technologies, working in a dynamic R&D; environment where each day presents unique challenges and opportunities to innovate in manufacturing and engineering.
What You'll Do
- Operate CNC lathes, milling machines, saws, and grinding machines to produce components
- Utilize manual lathes, milling machines, and drill presses for various tasks
- Maintain machine tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Produce and measure precision components to meet design specifications
- Collaborate with senior machinists to adopt best practices in setup, operations, and maintenance
- Implement 5S methodology (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) for continuous workspace improvement
What You'll Bring
- Currently enrolled in the BCIT CNC Machinist Program, eligible for CNC Machinist Co-op
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and manual dexterity
