IT Manager – IT Operations Location: Belleville, Ontario

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: $105,000–$115,000 per year

About The Opportunity TalentWorld is partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization that is currently seeking an experienced IT Manager – IT Operations to lead its IT function and oversee technology infrastructure across multiple locations.

This is a hands-on management position responsible for leading the IT team while maintaining and optimizing the organization's network, servers, telecommunications, systems, and technology infrastructure.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and business stakeholders to ensure technology supports operational requirements, data remains secure and accessible, and IT systems are reliable, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.

This opportunity is well suited to an IT professional who enjoys balancing people leadership, infrastructure management, technical troubleshooting, strategic planning, and hands-on IT operations.

Key Responsibilities IT Leadership & Team Management

- Lead, coordinate, and evaluate the activities of the IT department.
- Manage and develop IT team members, including recruitment, performance management, workload planning, and professional development.
- Establish priorities and ensure effective allocation of IT resources.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to employees across the organization.
- Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, standards, and best practices.

IT Infrastructure & Operations

- Manage and maintain the organization's existing IT infrastructure across multiple locations.
- Oversee network, server, telecommunications, and systems infrastructure.
- Plan and implement infrastructure improvements, migrations, and upgrades.
- Support server moves and infrastructure projects as required.
- Monitor system performance, capacity, reliability, and overall infrastructure health.
- Identify opportunities to optimize technology and improve business processes.

Network & Systems Administration

- Oversee local and wide-area network administration.
- Manage network connectivity between multiple sites.
- Support and maintain firewall, VPN, and other network security solutions.
- Manage server environments, including design, implementation, migration, and optimization.
- Support clustered server environments and related infrastructure.
- Ensure appropriate system capacity, performance, and availability.

Technology Strategy & Business Partnership

- Work closely with senior leadership to develop and execute IT strategies aligned with business objectives.




- Provide technical expertise and recommendations regarding technology investments and infrastructure requirements.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of company-wide technology projects.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Assess internal and external processes to determine how technology can better support the organization.

Hardware, Vendors & Technology Procurement

- Assess and forecast hardware, software, telecommunications, and infrastructure requirements.
- Manage the acquisition and implementation of IT hardware and technology solutions.
- Work with external vendors, consultants, and service providers as required.
- Provide ongoing vendor coordination, technical oversight, and follow-up.
- Ensure technology investments are appropriate for organizational requirements.

Data Integrity, Security & Accessibility

- Work with senior leadership and internal stakeholders to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
- Support data protection, information security, and system accessibility initiatives.
- Ensure appropriate controls and processes are in place to protect organizational information.
- Promote secure and effective use of technology throughout the organization.

IT Support

- Provide technical support and assistance across multiple organizational locations.
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex IT issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network, server, hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Ensure employees have the technology, systems, and support required to perform effectively.

Qualifications Education & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Post-secondary education or certification in Computer Science, IT, Business, or a related field will be considered.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience managing IT infrastructure, including networks and servers.
- 5+ years of progressively responsible IT experience in a networked environment supporting 50+ users.
- Previous experience managing or supervising an IT team.
- Experience supporting a multi-site organization is strongly preferred.
- Manufacturing or industrial environment experience is an asset.

- Technology implementation and system optimization.

Working Environment

- Primarily based in a professional office and manufacturing environment.
- Regular interaction with both office personnel and production-floor employees.
- May require travel between multiple company locations.
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to move throughout an office and manufacturing environment.
- Periodic lifting of equipment up to approximately 50 lbs. may be required.
