Java Developer with AI Tools Experience

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer with Agentic AI experience to join our technology team in Montreal. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java backend development, distributed systems, and production-grade software engineering, along with hands-on experience working with up-to-date AI tools and agentic AI technologies.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems while exploring and integrating AI-driven capabilities into enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, production-grade backend applications using Java.
- Build and enhance large-scale, distributed systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Apply strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns to solve complex engineering problems.
- Develop and maintain applications in Linux/Unix environments using scripting and automation.
- Work with relational and document-oriented databases.
- Design and implement AI-powered features using Agentic AI frameworks, tools, and technologies .
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Follow Agile development methodologies and DevOps best practices.
- Participate in code reviews,



testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze technical challenges and develop effective, scalable solutions.

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of professional software development experience , with strong depth in Java backend development.
- Strong expertise in Core Java and backend application development.
- Proven experience building large-scale, production-grade systems .
- Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture and design .
- Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns .
- Strong working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and scripting .
- Experience working with relational and/or document-oriented databases .
- Hands-on experience with Agentic AI development and AI tools/frameworks .
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies .
- Understanding of DevOps practices and modern software delivery processes .
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience integrating AI agents or LLM-powered capabilities into backend applications.
- Experience designing APIs and scalable microservices.
- Experience working in cloud or distributed computing environments.
- Exposure to CI/CD, automated testing, and containerized application development.
