The Strait Regional Centre for Education seeks a dedicated Student Support Worker for the term. This position aims to assist students who face racial, cultural, and social challenges. Your role will involve monitoring student progress, advocating for students, and strengthening connections between families and educators in the Nova Scotia region.
Key Responsibilities:
• Familiarize with individual student needs to assess and monitor progress
• Establish communication with parents through visits or phone contact
• Oversee student attendance and connect them with community support




• Maintain detailed journals to track student experiences
• Participate in Parent Teacher Conference days to discuss educational goals
Requirements:
• Grade 12 plus relevant post-secondary education
• Robust organizational and interpersonal skills
• Experience with educational issues impacting students
• Certification in CPR/First Aid or willingness to obtain
• Knowledge of technology for educational support
