Step into critical roles as a Human Rights Advisor at the Human Rights Legal Support Centre. These temporary positions in Ontario include a hybrid work model and a focus on supporting discrimination cases. The HRLSC is hiring two Human Rights Advisors for its temporary full-time contracts.
Your primary responsibility will be to provide legal advice and assistance via telephone to those affected by discrimination. Candidates should have a comprehensive understanding of human rights and social justice legislation, along with the ability to interact effectively with a variety of communities. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver legal information to clients by phone
- Guide individuals through Human Rights Tribunal applications
- Document detailed information and prepare summaries
- Foster clear communication with various community groups
- Apply case management or database system skills Requirements:
- Interpret Ontario's Human Rights Code
- Excellent listening and explanatory skills
- Solid familiarity with Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to thrive in a high-paced environment
