Position Overview

QRC Logistics is seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to lead the overall performance and strategic management of the third-party logistics and distribution services provided to one of our high-end customers.

This is a senior-level position responsible for maintaining a strong client relationship while ensuring operational excellence throughout the distribution centre. The Key Account Manager will oversee the performance of all warehouse functions supporting the account, including receiving, putaway, inventory management, order picking, value-added services and ticketing, packing, and shipping.

The successful candidate will act as the primary liaison between the customer and QRC Logistics, monitor service-level agreements and key performance indicators, lead operational improvement initiatives, and ensure our teams consistently deliver against customer expectations.

This position requires a strategic leader who is also comfortable remaining visible and hands-on within the operation, particularly during peak periods or critical operational situations.

Key ResponsibilitiesClient and Account Management

- Serve as the primary point of contact and senior QRC representative for a high-end customer account.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with the customer’s operational, logistics, and administrative teams.
- Represent QRC Logistics during client meetings, operational reviews, performance discussions, and strategic planning sessions.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of contractual requirements, service-level agreements, operational priorities, and customer expectations.
- Anticipate customer needs, identify potential concerns, and develop proactive operational solutions.
- Provide timely and professional communication regarding operational performance, service concerns, and corrective actions.

Operational Leadership

- Provide oversight across all third-party logistics and distribution functions supporting the customer account, including inbound receiving, putaway, inventory management, order picking, VAS and ticketing, packing, and shipping.
- Provide direction and functional leadership to Operations Managers, Supervisors, Team Leads, administrative coordinators, and operational employees.
- Review daily operational results and ensure appropriate resources are in place to meet volume, quality, and service requirements.
- Monitor productivity, workflow, staffing levels, capacity, and operational priorities.
- Support labour planning and resource allocation during regular and peak-volume periods.
- Maintain a visible presence within the distribution centre and provide hands-on leadership when operational support or escalation is required.
- Promote a culture of accountability,



collaboration, safety, and high performance.

KPI, SLA and Performance Management

- Monitor key performance indicators and service-level agreements, including order accuracy, picking accuracy, packing quality, on-time and in-full shipments, inventory integrity, throughput, and productivity.
- Identify performance trends, recurring issues, and service gaps.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans to maintain or improve performance.
- Generate and present operational reports, dashboards, and KPI analyses for QRC leadership and customer review.
- Use operational data to support labour forecasting, capacity planning, inventory management, and peak-season readiness.
- Provide clear and actionable performance updates to internal and customer stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

- Lead continuous improvement initiatives involving warehouse workflows, inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, labour utilization, and facility layout.
- Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, operational risks, and opportunities to improve service quality.
- Recommend and support enhancements involving warehouse management systems, SAP, RF scanners, transportation management systems, and other operational technology.
- Partner with operational leaders to implement sustainable process improvements and monitor results.
- Encourage employees and leaders to identify improvement opportunities and participate in proactive problem-solving.

Issue Resolution and Risk Management

- Act as the escalation point for significant operational, inventory, quality, or service-related concerns.
- Lead investigations into service failures, inventory discrepancies, shipping errors, and recurring quality issues.
- Ensure root causes are identified and appropriate corrective and preventive measures are implemented.
- Maintain oversight of customer-specific requirements, contractual commitments, and applicable regulatory obligations.
- Ensure operational concerns are communicated promptly and professionally to both the customer and internal leadership.
- Support business continuity and contingency planning for the account.

Safety, Quality and Team Development

- Ensure operations are conducted in compliance with QRC safety policies, quality standards, and applicable legislation.
- Work collaboratively with Operations, Inventory, VAS, Shipping, Administration, Human Resources, and Health and Safety.
- Coach and develop operational leaders to strengthen performance, accountability, and succession planning.
- Support training initiatives to ensure employees understand customer expectations, operational procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Address performance concerns promptly and consistently in partnership with operational leadership and Human Resources.

Qualifications

- Extensive senior-level distribution centre leadership or account management experience within a third-party logistics environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale warehouse operations supporting high-end retail, consumer goods, or manufacturing customers.
- Strong knowledge of inbound and outbound logistics, receiving, putaway, inventory management, order picking, VAS, packing, shipping, and cross-docking.
- Proven experience managing customer relationships, SLAs, KPIs, operational reviews, and service escalations.




- Experience leading and developing Operations Managers, Supervisors, Team Leads, coordinators, and front-line operational teams.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems, SAP, RF scanning technology, transportation management systems, and related operational platforms.
- Robust analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and develop corrective action plans.
- Demonstrated experience with labour planning, capacity forecasting, productivity management, and peak-volume preparation.
- Strong financial and business acumen, including an understanding of operational costs and resource utilization.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- Strong judgment, professionalism, integrity, and the ability to represent QRC Logistics with senior customer stakeholders.
- Ability to balance strategic account leadership with hands-on operational support.
- Postsecondary education in supply chain management, logistics, business, operations, or a related discipline is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to work in a combination of office and warehouse environments.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the distribution centre for operational monitoring and support.
- Regular exposure to warehouse equipment, including forklifts, conveyors, pallet jacks, and material-handling equipment.
- Ability to work in an environment with varying temperatures and operational noise.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment while on the warehouse floor.
- Occasional travel to customer sites, meetings, or other QRC operational locations may be required.
