Position Summary

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Part-Time Kitchen Prep Assistant to support our kitchen team. This role is focused primarily on food preparation, kitchen organization, and maintaining a clean, efficient workspace. You'll help ensure ingredients are ready for service, assist with basic kitchen tasks, and support the team during busy periods.

While some dishwashing and cleaning duties are required, this position is primarily a kitchen prep role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Food Preparation

- Prepare ingredients for daily service, including washing, chopping, slicing, portioning, and assembling food items.
- Prepare sauces, garnishes, salads, and other menu components according to recipes.
- Label, date, and properly store prepared ingredients.
- Restock prep stations and maintain ingredient levels throughout the shift.
- Assist line cooks with food preparation before and during service.

Kitchen Operations

- Keep prep stations clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Receive and organize deliveries.
- Rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
- Help maintain kitchen inventory and notify managers when supplies are running low.

Cleaning & Sanitation

- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, prep surfaces, floors, and storage areas.
- Complete daily and closing cleaning duties.
- Wash dishes, utensils,



and cookware as needed to support kitchen operations.
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are followed.

Team Support

- Assist with bussing tables or light front-of-house duties when required.
- Work collaboratively with cooks and service staff to maintain efficient service.
- Help wherever needed to create a positive guest experience.

Qualifications

- Previous kitchen or food preparation experience is an asset but not required.
- Basic knife skills and an interest in food preparation are preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Able to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Required Certifications

Applicants must have

- Valid FoodSafe Level 1 Certificate (BC).
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Any additional certifications required under British Columbia food service regulations.
