Responsibilities

- Follow the prep list based on the Urban Cafe menu
- Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables
- Prepare dishes such as salads
- Prepare dishes for plating
- Distributing plates to wait staff to be served, cleaning plates for dish washing, and preparing take away packages for customers
- Maintain clean and orderly kitchen by sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned

Requirements
- Available Monday-Friday daytime
- Proven kitchen experience




- Experience as a prep cook an asset
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
- Ability to work in quick-paced environment over the lunch hour
- A team player with good communication skills
- Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
- High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school will be an asset
