The Laboratory Technician supports scientific testing by preparing samples, operating laboratory equipment, maintaining quality records, and assisting with laboratory quality assurance activities. Working under experienced laboratory personnel, the successful candidate will contribute to accurate analytical testing while learning qualified laboratory practices used within an environmental testing laboratory.

Primary Responsibilities

- Prepare laboratory samples for analysis Perform routine laboratory testing Operate microscopes and laboratory instruments Maintain laboratory equipment Assist with calibration and verification activities Record laboratory data accurately Support QA/QC procedures Maintain laboratory documentation Follow laboratory safety procedures Assist with inventory management Participate in continuous improvement activities

Position Qualifications

Preferred Education

College Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in:




- Environmental Science / Environmental Technology Biology / Chemistry Laboratory Technology Occupational Health & Safety Environmental Engineering Technology, or another related science discipline

Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Basic Laboratory Knowledge: Scientific observation skills and understanding of basic laboratory techniques. Technical Proficiency: Microsoft Office proficiency and good documentation skills. Core Competencies: Strong attention to detail, time management, problem-solving, and excellent organizational skills. Work Ethic: Scientific curiosity, willingness to learn, strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team. Experience: Considered an asset but is not required. Comprehensive training will be provided to motivated candidates.

Pay: $17.60-$35.81 per hour
