Course Description: Lead the English Language Development stream of the Student Teaching in English Program (STEP) for undergraduate students from Universidad del Atlántico, delivered at the University of Ottawa's Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI). This seven-week component builds communicative confidence and cultural fluency through immersive, task-based learning in Canadian social, campus, community, and academic contexts. The instructor will design and deliver interactive lessons that develop speaking, listening, presentation, interview, comparison, and reflective communication skills, culminating in a capstone project. The role requires close collaboration with the instructor and teaching assistant in the TEFL Methodology and Language Enrichment components of the program so that language development and teaching methodology reinforce one another throughout the program.

The academic year starts on September 1 and ends on August 31. These rates do not include vacation pay nor statutory pay. These rates will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified. Retro will be paid after the ratification.

- Master's degree in second language teaching, TESL or related discipline.
- Two years of experience teaching ESL at the college/university level.
- Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent ESL course.
- Experience with team-teaching.
- TESL Certification or equivalent.
