Role Description The Lead Network Architect is a contract role responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing complex network architectures that support Accion Labs’ technology solutions and client environments. Based in Toronto, ON in a hybrid arrangement, this position requires regular on-site collaboration with stakeholders and some flexibility for work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading end-to-end network design efforts, defining standards and reference architectures, and overseeing configuration of routers, switches, firewalls,



and other network components.

The Lead Network

Architect will analyze network performance, troubleshoot issues, and drive capacity planning, security hardening, and resilience initiatives. This role also involves mentoring network engineers, collaborating with cloud, security, and application teams, and documenting architectures, runbooks, and best practices to ensure scalable, secure, and highly available network infrastructures.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Network Architecture and Network Design, with experience defining enterprise-scale, high-availability network solutions.
- Hands-on expertise in Network Engineering and Network Administration for complex, multi-site or hybrid cloud environments.
- Deep knowledge of Network Security, including firewall policies, VPNs, segmentation, and secure network design principles.
- Proficiency with routing and switching technologies, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, load balancers, and SD-WAN solutions.
- Experience integrating on-premises networks with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and designing hybrid connectivity.
- Ability to lead technical discussions, influence architecture decisions, and mentor engineering teams in a collaborative environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, or equivalent enterprise networking credentials are highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
