Role Description

Qterra Property Management is seeking a full-time, on-site Leasing Consultant based in Kitchener, Ontario. This is a fast-paced, client-facing role focused on leasing residential properties across Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas.

The Leasing Consultant will be responsible for conducting property showings, following up with leads, assessing homes with landlords, market analysis and keeping in contact with clients and prospective tenants.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, personable, confident in communicating with prospective tenants, and comfortable working in a results-driven environment. This role requires strong follow-up skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple properties and prospective tenants simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

Respond promptly and professionally to prospective tenant inquiries and leasing leads.

Conduct property showings based on prospect and property availability.

Conduct professional in-person showings and effectively present each property’s features and benefits.

Follow up consistently with prospective tenants after showings to gather feedback and encourage qualified applicants to move forward.





Assist applicants throughout the rental application process and ensure applications are complete and accurate.

Coordinate with the leasing and property management teams regarding property availability, applications, and leasing activity.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inquiries, showings, applications, and follow-ups within company systems and CRM.

Conduct photographs and virtual tours.

Negotiate on behalf of landlords and prospective tenants.

Maintain robust knowledge of available rental properties and provide accurate information to prospective tenants.

Represent Qterra professionally during all interactions with prospective tenants, property owners, and team members.

Meet leasing activity, follow-up, and performance expectations established by management.

Qualifications

Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Confident and professional when conducting property showings and communicating with prospective tenants.

Strong sales and follow-up skills with the ability to convert inquiries and showings into qualified applications.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple leads, appointments, and properties.

High attention to detail when handling applications, documentation, and lease information.

Comfortable working independently while remaining accountable to a collaborative leasing team.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and performance-driven environment.

Comfortable using CRM systems, email, spreadsheets, calendars, and other standard office technology.

Previous experience in residential leasing, property management, real estate, sales, hospitality, or another customer-facing role is an asset.

Knowledge of the Kitchener-Waterloo rental market is an asset.

High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business, real estate, property management, or a related field is an asset.

A valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a vehicle are required due to travel between rental properties.
