We are a 6 person firm with 4 lawyers; looking to add a legal assistant who will work with two personal injury lawyers in a collegial and supportive work environment.

Position Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include

- Assisting lawyers manage personal injury files from intake to resolution
- Scheduling client meetings, Zoom calls, Examinations for Discovery, Mediations, and other matters;
- Requesting, filing and serving medical and other records;
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date file organization (both paper and electronic)
- Communicating professionally with clients, insurance companies, medical providers, and court staff
- Drafting Affidavits of Documents
- Tracking notice and limitation periods and court deadlines
- Performing other administrative tasks as required to support the legal team

This position is an excellent opportunity to learn and work with knowledgeable and approachable lawyers and staff, in a small office setting.





The position has an option to be hybrid with a minimum of two days per week at the office (you can come in every day if you prefer).

Qualifications:

- Completion of a recognized Legal Assistant or, Paralegal or Law Clerk program
- Knowledge of the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure;
- Familiarity with plaintiff-side personal injury file handling, including AB and tort is preferred; but not required;
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills;
- Excellent computer literacy (we are are paperless office);
- Ability to work independently and also as part of a team;
- Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive client information.

The position includes extended health care benefits and paid time off (3 weeks).
