As the Licensed Practical Nurse, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people in your community. Reporting to the Care Manager, you will use your strong assessment, organizational, and leadership skills to deliver quality nursing care to clients in the community and to provide leadership and supervision of Health Care Aides. The successful candidate will play a key role on the interdisciplinary team, collaborating in the delivery of holistic, client and family centered care. Your role will require you to work independently in client homes, lift and carry medical bags and be comfortable working in all weather conditions. In this role, you will utilize your solid oral and written communication, and deliver quality nursing care to clients in all developmental stages in the community. Utilizing your experience in wound care, palliative care and client teaching, you will take a collaborative approach to meeting health goals, contribute to the nursing diagnosis and participate in nursing interventions and outcomes. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills.
You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (GDL license is not acceptable). Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position: This position requires frequent physical demands including walking, bending, lifting, and standing and driving for long periods of time. Transferring patients of varying sizes and degrees of mobility. Transporting supplies and equipment. Driving in all weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of one year Home Care experience. Minimum of one-year Acute Care experience. Experience with wound care, palliative care and client teaching.
