Regional Contracts Officer
position commencing
Sept 8, 2026 and ending December 31, 2027.
Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Support Staff, Level 13: $2,747.50 biweekly plus a comprehensive benefits plan. This position is responsible for developing relationships specifically with industry and major projects in the region with the goal of determining the need and viability of new courses and programs that may result in education contracts, program delivery or course offerings that align with Industries needs and that contribute to the growth of CMTN by supporting strategic goals, meeting mandates and generating revenue. This position is primarily responsible for the program/project management of technical and industry related programs and courses with a particular focus on Power Engineering and other technical training as determined. Key components of the role may include, but are not limited to: Coordinate all aspects of work related to contract course and program delivery and development, collaborating with internal departments to ensure educational standards are maintained Compile, develop, and administer contract program budgets; authorize payments including supplies, expenses, salaries,
and fees; closely monitor and reconcile budgets on a monthly basis Collaborate with industry and major project proponents to identify training opportunities and determine the feasibility of new programs by assessing curriculum development, implementation costs, and revenue generation, Develop recent programs and courses to that are supported by the needs of Industry and major projects in the region, ensuring courses and programs meet any external regulatory body requirements. Develop and prepare program proposals and budgets; respond to Requests for Proposals to seek funding for programs Liaise with Ministry, partners, and other College department staff ensuring accuracy of program reporting, financial invoicing, and reconciliation Lead hiring committees and initiate hiring, scheduling, and support of instructors and staff required for program and course delivery Evaluate the delivery and results of programs and make recommendations for changes and improvements for future proposal submissions Oversee portfolio of programs and coordinate between campuses and departments to achieve cost efficiencies and ensure programs align with strategic plan goals and objectives Qualifications
Qualifications/Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a post-secondary institution Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience working in contract training and project management Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience in Trades/Heavy Industry Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence Experience in the operation of a post-secondary institution Experience in budget development, monitoring, and implementation Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, and technical skills Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to determine priorities, work independently, and with minimal supervision Strong leadership and team-oriented skills with the ability to build networks and relationships with business, industry, professional associations, communities, and college departments Attention to detail and experience working in an entrepreneurial environment
