Monsoon Izakaya – New Country Hills Location

We are excited to open our second Monsoon Izakaya location in Country Hills and are looking for dedicated and hardworking Line Cooks / Prep Cooks to join our opening team!

This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and want to be part of a new restaurant opening. Whether you have previous kitchen experience or are looking to develop your culinary skills, we welcome motivated team members who take pride in quality, cleanliness, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

- Prepare ingredients and assist with daily kitchen preparation according to recipes and standards
- Cook menu items while maintaining consistent quality, taste, and presentation
- Follow recipes, portion standards, and proper cooking procedures
- Assist with plating and garnishing dishes before serving
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures at all times
- Stock and restock ingredients and supplies as needed
- Ensure ingredients are properly labeled, stored, and rotated
- Support other kitchen team members during busy service periods
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth and timely service
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties




- Help maintain a positive and professional kitchen environment

Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, food service, or kitchen setting is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation and basic cooking techniques
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multitask and prioritize during busy service
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible work attitude
- Able to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required
- Previous Japanese restaurant experience is an asset but not required
- Food industry experience is preferred but entry-level candidates are welcome to apply
