Position: Live-In Residential Building Caretaker

Location: In office at a residential building in UBC, Vancouver

Starting Date: October 1st, 2026

This is a Live-In Position – On-Site Accommodation is Provided at a reduced rental rate.

1 bedroom apartment. Maximum 2 occupants.

We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and professional Live-In Residential Building Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and cleanliness of a Strata residential building in Vancouver.

This is a full-time, on-site position that combines building management, resident coordination, cleaning, and basic maintenance responsibilities. The successful candidate will be required to reside in the building as part of the position, allowing them to maintain a consistent on-site presence and support the effective operation of the property.

Key Responsibilities

- Clean and maintain the building's common areas, ensuring they remain clean, safe, and welcoming for residents.
- Oversee the general day-to-day operations of the building.
- Liaise with contractors and coordinate access for scheduled repairs, maintenance, and service appointments.
- Conduct routine inspections of common areas and building systems and promptly report any concerns requiring attention.
- Respond to resident inquiries, requests, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Coordinate and monitor move-ins and move-outs as required.
- Perform basic maintenance duties, including minor repairs and troubleshooting.
- Monitor the property for maintenance,



cleanliness, and security concerns and report issues to management as required.
- Maintain regular communication with property management and/or Strata representatives regarding building operations.
- Assist with building notices, access, keys, fobs, and other general administrative or resident coordination duties as required.
- Lift and move supplies or equipment as needed (up to 30–50 lbs).

Requirements
- Previous cleaning experience is required.
- Fluency in English is required for effective communication with residents, contractors, and management.
- Previous experience as a residential building manager, caretaker, or similar position is a strong asset.
- Administrative experience or familiarity with Strata or residential property operations is considered an asset.
- Comfortable performing physical tasks, including cleaning and lifting moderate weight.
- Basic knowledge of property maintenance, minor repairs, and troubleshooting is required.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Friendly, professional, dependable, and self-motivated.
- Must be comfortable residing in office as this is a live-in position.
