Shift: (Nights) Sunday- Thursday 11:30pm- 8:00am

SUMMARY The Router is responsible for efficiently planning and organizing the delivery of loads using both tractor-trailers and straight trucks. This role ensures all deliveries align with customer requirements, including specific appointment times and any service constraints. The Router works closely with Dispatch, Dock teams, and drivers to optimize load assignments while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Sort and group invoices by route to streamline delivery processes.
- Plan and schedule load line-ups to maximize the use of drivers and equipment while meeting customer demands.
- Collaborate effectively with Dispatch and Dock departments to coordinate and set up outbound loads.
- Assign drivers and trucks to runs using the bid run system; update dispatch sheets to reflect driver availability and changes.
- Replace placeholder bills with original shipping documents as they are received; promptly route any missed or un-manifested bills.




- Apply a strong understanding of hours-of-service regulations to ensure driver compliance.
- Work with fellow Routers and the Data Entry team to enhance operational efficiency and dock readiness.
- Communicate promptly with Supervisors about delivery issues, driver needs, or any changes to schedules.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

- Solid organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of cost-effective load planning.
- Familiarity with the terminal's delivery area.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work across various departments and personalities.
- Knowledge of shipping documentation, paperwork processes, and customer service standards.
- Adaptable and open to new processes or changes in routine.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

- Overtime may be required.
