About Succession AI

Succession AI is the AI-native M&A; advisory firm built for small and medium-sized businesses with $1M-$30M in revenue. We're not selling software; we're building what a modern investment bank looks like when it's designed from the ground up around AI and the needs of business owners. Our AI automates the mechanical work that used to eat 70% of an advisor's week, enabling our advisors close deals 3x faster than the industry norm.

Why Join Us

Rapid Momentum. Join one of Canada’s fastest-growing AI-native M&A; advisory firms, with institutional partnerships, proprietary valuation tools, and an expanding buyer network that creates opportunities from Day One.

Untapped growth opportunities potential. Help define what modern M&A; looks like by combining world-class advisory with AI. Gain responsibility, autonomy, and leadership opportunities that would take years to earn at a traditional M&A; firm.

In-person culture. Based in Toronto, you will work in-person with our founding team from Day 1.

World-class Investors & Impact. Backed by over $1M from top venture investors across the U.S. and Canada, including Comma Capital, Hustle Fund, and StandUp Ventures.

Founding Ownership. As a small, lean team, every hire carries outsized impact. You’ll own transactions end-to-end while helping build the advisory function, playbook, and team from the ground up.

About The Role

As an M&A; Intern, you’ll work directly with the CEO and founding team across the full M&A; process. You’ll help turn conversations with business owners into well-run processes, keep live deals moving, and make sure the right information gets to the right person at the right time.

This is a hands-on apprenticeship in modern M&A.; You’ll see how mandates are won, how businesses are valued,

how buyers are found, and how deals get over the line. You’ll also help improve the systems and AI workflows we use to run every transaction.

Who You Are

- You have a strong foundation in finance and can build, read, and explain financial models. You understand the basics of three-statement modeling, valuation, financial analysis, and how assumptions affect an outcome.
- You have prior client-facing experience through an internship, work term, project, or role in finance, M&A;, consulting, accounting, investment banking, corporate development, entrepreneurship, or a related field. This experience is helpful and will be prioritized, but we care most about what you learned and how you operated.
- You’re comfortable working directly with business owners, buyers, investors, and senior stakeholders. You can prepare for a conversation, ask thoughtful questions, take clear notes, and follow through.
- You’re highly organized and can keep track of details, deadlines, and follow-ups across several workstreams without needing to be chased.
- You write clearly, communicate confidently, and know how to be thoughtful with sensitive information.
- You’re analytical and comfortable working with spreadsheets, research, and imperfect information.
- You have high agency. When something is unclear or broken, you investigate it, make a recommendation, and move it forward.

- You’re comfortable working across functions. You can move from a financial model to a seller call, from buyer research to a product feedback session, and from a CEO priority to an engineering handoff.
- You’re low-ego, fast-learning, and excited to work in person with a founding team.

What You Will Do

- Support the CEO across seller conversations, buyer outreach, deal preparation, and transaction follow-ups.
- Build and maintain financial models, valuation analyses, scenario analyses, and other decision materials used in live transactions.
- Prepare meeting briefs, call notes, action items, and next steps that keep every process moving.
- Help build market maps, buyer lists, company profiles, teasers, CIM materials, and client-ready presentations.
- Coordinate diligence requests, data-room materials, timelines, and communication across sellers, buyers, advisors, investors, and internal teams.
- Research and develop relationships with strategic buyers, search funds, private equity firms, and individual acquirers across North America.
- Maintain accurate deal and relationship data so the team always has a clear view of the pipeline.
- Use Succession AI’s tools to accelerate research, analysis, buyer sourcing, and process management, while flagging where the product can be better.
- Work across M&A;, product, engineering, and operations to turn recurring deal work into better playbooks, templates, workflows, and product feedback.
- Translate client and deal-team needs into clear requirements, then help teammates turn those requirements into practical tools.
- Own focused cross-functional projects that make the M&A; function faster, clearer, and more scalable.
