POSITION SCOPE:

The purpose of the Health Services Clerk is to assist clients to access appropriate services and providers in the Health Centre. This position will ensure Patient Transportation, Non-Insured Health Services are easily accessible to all community members.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Diploma in Medical Office Administration, Medical Secretary, Office Administration - Health Services, Business Administration, or a related field; or
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma;
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a medical office, health centre, healthcare administration, reception, or client services environment;
- Experience supporting NIHB programs, medical transportation, healthcare scheduling, records management,



or client intake processes is considered a strong asset.
- A combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Refer incoming comments, questions, and/or concerns to the appropriate personnel or, if required, to off-reserve services.
- Ensures that the reception area is comfortable for clients and provides direction to the visiting professionals and/or Health Staff
- Coordinates and processes all non-insured health benefits program in accordance with FNIHB directives.
- Advocate for clients on the appeal or rejection of Non-insured Health Benefits claims; submits monthly invoices to First Nation Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB),
- The Health Services Clerk will assist in the coordination of client transportation
