Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Tube Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team at the Winnipeg South branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating our BLM tube laser equipment to produce high-quality components according to customer specifications and production requirements.

Our facility operates BLM LT8 and BLM LT8.20 tube laser systems. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of tube laser operating experience, with experience on BLM equipment considered a strong asset.

Our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate BLM LT8 and LT8.20 tube laser systems.
- Set up machines and load appropriate programs, tooling, and material.
- Load and unload tube and structural material using proper material-handling procedures.




- Verify material type, dimensions, and job requirements prior to production.
- Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as required to maintain production quality.
- Inspect finished components using drawings, specifications, and appropriate measuring equipment.
- Identify and troubleshoot common machine, tooling, material, and cutting issues.
- Perform routine machine checks and basic operator-level maintenance.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Complete first-piece and in-process inspections.
- Ensure parts are properly identified, sorted, and prepared for downstream operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and protected work area.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Communicate production issues, quality concerns, and equipment problems to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
- Work effectively with manufacturing, engineering, and production team members to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

- 2+ years of experience operating a tube laser or similar CNC cutting equipment.
- Experience operating BLM tube lasers is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
- Basic understanding of CNC machine operation and cutting processes.
- Ability to use common measuring equipment such as tape measures, calipers, and other inspection tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and make appropriate machine adjustments.




- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.
- Crane operation experience is considered an asset.
- Previous experience working in a metal fabrication or steel processing environment is preferred.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to safely lift and handle materials and finished components weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to repeatedly bend, reach, push, pull, and handle material.
- Ability to safely work around large CNC machinery and material-handling equipment.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including safety footwear, eye protection, hearing protection, and other equipment as required.

Schedule

- Must be available to work alternating shifts, including: DAYS, EVENINGS, NIGHTS.

Experience with BLM LT8/LT8.20 tube laser systems, overhead cranes, and steel fabrication will be considered strong assets.
