Iris client, one of their Educational Client is looking to hire Mainframe Engineer for Remote.

- We are looking for Mainframe Engineer who has hands on experience in end-to-end reliability, performance, availability, and scalability of integrated OCI and IBM Mainframe systems.
- The candidate should have the experience in OCI or similar clouds (AWS/GCP/Azure) for hybrid/mainframe integration.
- Candidate should have strong background in COBOL batch programming and operations (JCL, utilities like IDCAMS/SORT, batch scheduling with CA-7/OPC or similar).
- This person will be develop automation tools and scripts to manage mainframe operations.
- Should be able to participate in on-call rotation for incident response, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and blameless postmortems across hybrid environments.
- Need minimum of 6+ years of experience.




- Extensive hands-on experience with IBM z/OS 2.5 (or earlier versions) administration, including IPL, subsystem management, and z/OSMF
- Proven expertise in CA-IDEAL for online application development and support (e.g., panels, programs, Datacom navigation)
- Robust background in COBOL batch programming and operations (JCL, utilities like IDCAMS/SORT, batch scheduling with CA-7/OPC or similar)
- Proficiency in software engineering for automation (Python/Go preferred; REXX, Assembler, or CLIST acceptable)
- Experience with OCI or similar clouds (AWS/GCP/Azure) for hybrid/mainframe integration
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, networking, and database concepts (e.g., DB2 on z/OS integrating with OCI databases)
