SIC partners with organizations across the mining, manufacturing, energy, and industrial sectors to improve operational performance throughout the entire asset lifecycle.
Our multidisciplinary teams support clients in operational readiness, commissioning, start-up, ramp-up, maintenance and reliability, asset management, workforce solutions, and continuous improvement. We don't simply develop strategies; we work alongside our clients to successfully implement them
About The Role
Systemex is seeking Maintenance Planners at the Junior, Intermediate, Senior, and Lead levels to join our growing team. Whether your expertise is in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, mobile equipment, or fixed plant maintenance, you'll play a key role in improving equipment reliability and maintenance performance for some of Canada's leading mining and industrial operations.
Working closely with our clients' maintenance and operations teams, you'll help optimize maintenance planning, scheduling, asset performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans, schedules, and detailed work packages.
- Plan labour, materials, tools, equipment, and contractor requirements for maintenance activities.
- Coordinate weekly maintenance schedules, shutdowns, outages, and major maintenance events.
- Review equipment history and maintenance data to improve reliability and maintenance efficiency.
- Manage work order backlogs, planning priorities, and maintenance documentation.
- Support spare parts planning, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and inventory optimization.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA), reliability initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.
- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and project teams to ensure safe and effective maintenance execution.
What We're Looking For
- Technical diploma, Red Seal trade certification, engineering technology diploma, or engineering degree.
- Experience in maintenance planning within mining, manufacturing, energy, or other heavy industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling, and preventive/predictive maintenance best practices.
- Experience using CMMS/EAM systems such as SAP PM, IBM Maximo, Hexagon EAM, Infor EAM, Oracle, JD Edwards, Pronto, Maintenance Connection, or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in French is mandatory.
Proficiency in English is also required in order to communicate effectively with internal clients and partners located outside of Quebec.
