Position Summary
Our growing firm is looking to add a key member to our team. As a Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the engagement, from planning to completion.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage compilation and review engagements, reporting under CSRS 4200 and CSRE 2400, including initial review
- Perform initial review of tax compliance filings (T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T5013, T5018, GST, etc.)
- Conduct tax research projects on various issues (tax planning opportunities, tax minimization strategies, compliance issues, corporate restructuring, etc.)
- Liaise with Canada Revenue Agency
- Provide coaching to junior team members as well as timely constructive feedback
- Responsible for engagement budgeting and allocation
- Monitor engagement progress against budgets and timelines
- Develop and maintain trusted client relationships including responding to client questions and inquiries
- Contribute to development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes while working directly with partners
Skills & Qualifications
- Completion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
- 1-3 years post designation of relevant work experience in public accounting
- Minimum 2 years review of compilation and review engagements, including tax compliance (T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T5013, T5018, GST, etc.)
- Broad exposure and extensive knowledge of relevant Canadian tax legislation and corporate, personal, and trust tax planning and compliance
- Extensive knowledge of ASPE
- Dedication to proactive thinking, integrity, precision execution and providing value-focused service
- Experience with accounting and tax software such as CaseWare, TaxCycle, Blue J and QuickBooks
