This is an opportunity to work closely with the Chair, School of Public Safety, the Manager provides academic and operational leadership, administrative oversight, and quality assurance support for the Paralegal and Law Clerk programs.
The incumbent supports the Chair in ensuring compliance with Law Society of Ontario requirements, facilitating effective program delivery, and advancing student success. The role contributes to program planning, accreditation processes, and external partnerships, while supporting faculty in alignment with institutional policies and processes. Travel to King Campus is required for meetings.
Provide operational oversight and academic coordination for the delivery of the Paralegal and Law Clerk programs (full-time and part-time). Act as the primary administrative liaison with the Law Society of Ontario, supporting timely responses and resolution of program-related matters in consultation with the Chair. Support the Chair in ensuring program compliance with accreditation, academic, and institutional requirements.
Support processes to confirm that graduates meet competencies required for licensing progression. Ensure marketing and admissions information is accurate, verifiable, and aligned with regulatory expectations. Support recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of full-time and part-time faculty in collaboration with the Chair.
Provide guidance and resources related to academic policies, classroom practices, and student support processes. Support field placement processes, including reviewing the suitability of placement opportunities and supervisors. Monitor instructional delivery and identify areas for continuous improvement, in consultation with the Chair.
Assist the Chair with workload planning processes and resource utilization. Support the resolution of student concerns in collaboration with the Chair and appropriate college services.
Strategic
Planning & Quality Assurance Support the Chair in long-term planning, including program development, curriculum review processes, and resource planning. Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and program-related projects. Partnerships, Marketing & Outreach Develop and maintain relationships with industry, community, and skilled organizations.
Participate in marketing, recruitment, and outreach activities. Support development of program communications and digital presence. practice in establishing policies and procedures in support of continuous improvement and specific knowledge of student success processes are required. Minimum three (3)
years of legal practice experience in Ontario as a licensed lawyer.
Management experience in a post-secondary environment; demonstrated project management skills are preferred. Post-secondary teaching experience, preferably in a related school discipline, is an asset.
Experience in establishing job performance levels, academic requirements, scheduling, administrative support, and basic accounting is considered an asset, as the functions of the position may vary from day to day. Law Society of Ontario licensee in Active Good Standing. An undergraduate degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, is preferred.
A graduate degree (Master's) and/or a degree, diploma, or certificate in education from an accredited or recognized institution is considered an asset. Well-developed public relations and relationship-building skills and demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire staff. Proven ability to manage projects and deliver professional presentations.
Demonstrated organization, managerial, and project management skills with an emphasis on interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication/interpersonal skills to interact effectively with the College’s multi-cultural/racial/able students, staff and public. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
Experience with database applications and learning management systems is an asset. Familiarity with student information systems. #
