BEAVERLODGE REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL is seeking candidates who enjoy working in a student-focused and team-oriented environment. We invite applications for a Temporary Part-Time Library Assistant (30 hrs/wk ) for the 2026/2027 school year.
Reporting to the Principal, the Library Assistant will be actively involved in creating an environment that is dynamic and collaborative for inquiry, with unlimited accessibility, where all learners are welcomed, engaged and supported in their personalized learning pursuits both in the library and within classrooms.
Experience
- Experience working in an educational setting is preferred
- Experience and/or training with library procedures, cataloguing and filing systems
- Experience in an automated environment and in the library field is preferred
- Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform the position may be considered
Competencies
- Proficiency with both Google and Microsoft platforms is required

Duties and Responsibilities
Library
- working with students through varying formats and roles,
- act as a resource to teachers and students in obtaining information and materials,
- circulation, maintaining and updating the resources necessary for a school library, and
- providing research and resource support to students and staff at the school.
Other
- Provide support for various school needs as identified and assigned by School Administration
- Be familiar with and adhere to District Administrative Procedures that relate to the position
Terms and conditions of employment are outlined in Policy GGG: Personnel Policy for Non-Teaching Staff. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $20.66/hour to $27.20/hour.
A current Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check), dated within the last six months, is a condition of employment.
